My Telford based client is currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a permanent basis. Staff Benefits: Salary negotiable depending on experience Free lunches during term time Access to a generous contributory pension scheme Free Parking 25 days holiday + bank holidays 8.30am 5.30pm Monday to Friday Responsibilities: Dealing with all aspects of Purchase Ledger Handling the reconciliation of cash transactions within the school Support the efficient and effective management of the school s finances ensuring that funds are managed with the highest degree of honesty and transparency Undertaking tasks such as monitoring the finance inbox, answering telephones, and the door intercom Operate all aspects of purchase and general ledger in a timely manner, ensuring that all expenditure and invoices are authorised appropriately Handling the reconciliation of cash transactions within the school, ensuring they are recorded, receipted and banked in conjunction with other staff Ensure all necessary reconciliations are completed on a regular basis and anomalies appropriately investigated Support the monthly recharge process for resources and services Support the month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including ensuring staff are informed of deadlines in a timely manner and adhere to them Give help and advice to budget holders on management of their spending and inform them in a timely manner when they are nearing their full budget spend Provide a customer-focused, professional service providing information and assistance to, and with, all staff, parents/carers, students, members of the public, trades and other agencies Deal with enquiries and take appropriate action using your own initiative, and the resolution or passing on of complaints to the appropriate member of staff Ensure all service standards, service level agreements, deadlines, financial procedures, statutory and legal requirements are met at all times Use IT applications and databases effectively to deliver administrative tasks Support to complete and prepare for all audit/compliance inspections Assist in setting and monitoring of annual budget expenditure Operate and support the development of systems which support staff to meet compliance requirements while minimising restrictions to day-to-day operations Lead by example and promote the importance of adherence to financial procedures and regulations Any other task as deemed necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Department Skills and Experience Demonstrate levels of Numeracy and Literacy equivalent to GCSE (A-C or equivalent) Experience of working within a Finance Department Experience of dealing with complex queries from a wide range of people Able to establish and maintain accurate records using both manual and electronic systems Excellent IT skills, especially Excel including the use of Excel functions Demonstrate an underpinning knowledge of effective financial procedures and controls Similar roles would include Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator, Purchase Ledger Assistant, Finance Assistant Contact Steph at Major Recruitment Telford for further information or click apply We will carefully consider your application and advise you if we're able to progress with your application within 3 working days.
