Motor Vehicle Technician (Police Vehicles) Woolwich £36,900 + Bonus + Benefits (45 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7am-4:30pm X3 weeks, and 1X week 10:30am- 8pm) Introduction We are looking for a Motor Vehicle Technician to join one of our clients, who is a large defence company based in Woolwich. As a Motor Vehicle Technician, you will be joining a highly skilled team carrying out work on Metropolitan Police Service vehicles. Roles & Responsibilities As the Motor Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for: Servicing, adjusting and repairing vehicles, components and accessories. Diagnosing faults and testing vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Observing, recognising and reporting on defects and/or symptoms of impending failure. Ordering from the parts department, all necessary replacement parts, ensuring that no parts are fitted to vehicles other than those required to complete the work Interpreting technical service information and data from manuals, bulletins and or computer files and data. Always ensuring that equipment and tools are kept in a clean, safe condition and to report any shortages or damaged/faulty equipment the line manager. Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: City & Guilds National craft certificate 1, 2 & 3, or NVQ Vehicle Mechanical & Electronic Systems 1, 2 & 3 OR equivalent. Proven working experience with a manufacturer or dealership. Able to obtain a Metropolitan Police clearance - NVVP1 An understanding of the manufacturer warranty process. Experience using diagnostic machines and understanding of diagnostic processes. You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
