Role Profile (The purpose of the role) This role is responsible for providing expert level Azure architecture and infrastructure support ,focusing on design, installation, configuration, operational management, migration, integration, monitoring, and cost tracking of Microsoft Azure IAAS and PAAS services for the Verastar Group. In addition, they will support with third line on-prem infrastructure support and maintenance. Responsibilities of the role (What we want you to do) Design, build, manage and support the Azure / On-prem Hybrid infrastructure. Build migration solutions from on-prem to Microsoft Azure cloud. Contribute to architecture and infrastructure designs. Troubleshoot Microsoft Azure and On-Prem infrastructure components, network performance and make recommendations for future proofing and performance improvement. Act as the senior escalation point for staff and members of the Service Desk Team. Keep operational documentation up to date including the knowledge base, how to guides and process changes. Introduce, implement new and amended IT policies and procedures in light of business changes. Ensure existing IT policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced. Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives under direction of IT Infrastructure Manager. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager to promote excellent customer service, effective response times and provide expert insight into general support issues. Success Measures (What success in the role looks like) Microsoft Azure infrastructure is fully optimised and secure to support business requirements. Project solutions are delivered within specified deadlines. Achieve all agreed objectives with positively trending relative key performance indicators. Achieve all agreed targets in a consistent manner (month by month). Experience (What you need to have already done to be right for this role) Minimum 5-years experience in a third line infrastructure role working with Microsoft Azure and On-Prem infrastructure components. Experience administering Azure Services: App Service, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, ExpressRoute, Virtual machines, Virtual Networks. Experience of Azure Migration, migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud using Azure Migrate (or other) tools. Experience with Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery architecture and planning. Extensive and applied experience administering Windows Server OS 2016 and above (Standalone & Cluster) patching, domain admin, network configuration, security monitoring In-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure and On-Prem infrastructure components and how they integrate with one another. In-depth knowledge of with Azure Security Centre and Azure Monitor: Network, Application, Infrastructure. In-depth knowledge of multi factor authentication (Azure MFA preferred), Microsoft AD Integration with Cloud Applications/Microsoft Azure Active Directory. Good working knowledge of Network administration. Good working knowledge of Active Directory Services including DNS, DHCP, and DFS. Skills (The personal capabilities needed to excel in this role) Excellent written (including technical writing) and verbal communications skills, with an ability to adapt communication styles to individual colleagues and internal customers and effectively explain complex technical information in a simple and straightforward manner. High level of attention to detail and organisation, with a sense of ownership, pride and responsibility for the accuracy of your own work. Methodical approach to problem solving, able to logically understand, diagnose and resolve problems and conduct research into areas as required and find solutions where these don t already exist. Excellent organisation skills, with a proactive approach to planning, capable of prioritizing work requests with minimal oversight and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Ability to work well as part of a team, demonstrating a professional, friendly and helpful demeanour, with the desire to create great working relationships with both colleagues and customers.
